WELCOME TO SYLVANIA

Every first Friday of the month from 5 PM, there is a gathering of residents and business owners of Sylvania. There are different themes each month, but it's always a good time!

A unique park experience! Fossil digging is permitted April through October (no tools allowed)! One of only two Devonian sites easily accessible in the world, and admission is free!

Lucas County has one of the top rated libraries in the nation and two branches are located within Sylvania! The Sylvania branch  is on Monroe St., and the King Road branch is on King Rd.!

Enjoy a stroll down Main St. in downtown Sylvania and check out local shops which include a book store, an art galleries and supply stores as well as local eateries to get a meal or a treat!

Sylvania has some notable swimming spots! Pictured above is Plummer Pool, located on Maplewood Ave.! It has a maximum depth of 5 ft. If you are looking for deeper waters, check out the Centennial Quarry (on Centennial Rd.) or Olander Park located on Sylvania Ave.!

Pacesetter Park is located on Sylvania-Metamora Rd.! Soccer fields are in abundance and leagues are often open to new members! Besides soccer there are also baseball fields and a skate park, so everyone can find something to enjoy!

Find your favorite ice cream in Sylvania! We have several contenders, including Mayberry Ice Cream (5645 Mayberry Sq.), Timbo's Cones and Coneys (5437 W. Alexis), and Handel's Ice Cream (5908 W. Sylvania Ave.). With so many good options, and specialties available at each location, you can try new ice cream all summer long! 

Lourdes University offers a unique educational program where they offer classes in various academic subjects open to all interested adults for a registration fee regardless of educational background! The only requirement is that you have an interest in continuing to learn!
