Ministry opportunities also involve our own members who struggle with health issues that prevent their more active participation.  We send cards and small gifts created by members, as well as occasionally helping with yard clean-up or providing transportation to a doctor’s appointment.  Our pastor makes frequent visits with communion to those who are not able to attend worship.  At times, members have also participated in this home communion ministry. 

The Non-Food Pantry at Salem Lutheran Church has a wishlist of non-food items which are needed by many members of our local community to live a healthy life, such as basic hygiene items. We have a year round collection which is donated periodically throughout the year!

Donate food to the local food bank! We have a receptacle outside and we have a cart that you can fill up with any donations of non-perishable food items. That food is taken to Lutheran Social Services once a month to help those in the community that may not have enough to eat! 

St. Stephen women are very active in creating quilts which are then sent around the world, to those in need, as a lifeline. They are used for warmth, shelter, and a variety of other purposes. The quilts are blessed and shipped around the world! Check the calendar for any upcoming quilting events!

On the first Sunday of every month we collect the Noisy Offering at both services. We donate the money every three months to these different charitable organization: Lutheran World Relief, St. Paul's Community Center and Sylvania Area Family Services. Have any extra change jingling around in your pocket but its not the first Sunday? Drop your change into the "jingle jug" on the usher's table any time you visit St. Stephen Lutheran Church!
